About Hervey

HERVEY is the middle name of musician, singer-songwriter and producer Sébastien De Francesco, who has been reinventing himself since 1991. Bassist and guitarist, he travels the roads of Quebec, Canada and the world, either accompanying artists or with his various groups of interpretations.

In 1998, he founded “Productions Camille” and since then has produced more than 300 shows a year and acts as a producer and artist agent. His first album was released in October 2002. He participated in the reggae compilation album “Redub” in 2003 as a songwriter on 2 songs and performed the piece “Working Class Hero” by John Lennon.

In 2007, his second album was released. In 2009 he collaborated with the lounge/electro artist Valectra and co-composed, wrote and played bass with her on her two albums. In 2010 he co-founded the rock group “Motel 72”, their first album was released in 2013 and they were crowned discovery and group of the year in 2014 and 2016 in Switzerland at the Pully Lavaux festival at Quebec time.
In 2017 he founded the country/folk group “Woody” and after releasing their first EP they were nominated for Group of the Year at the 2019 Country Culture Gala. In 2019 he produced a new artist, his daughter Lili-Ann De Francesco.

On a Sunday afternoon in February 2019, Sébastien was struck by an extraordinary inspiration. A dozen sketches of songs of a completely different style come to his mind and strike him in the heart. Hervey is born and his first song, “Ma California”, is released on April 15, 2019… a mixture of attitudes and madness that life sometimes requires.

Directed and produced by Hervey and Stéphane Dussault of the group Les Respectables and Steve Scala, the song rose to number 19 in the Pop/Rock Top 25 and broke into the Top 50 of the Top 100 BDS on the ADISQ charts. Its second single, “Mirage” was released on June 15, 2020 and entered the Energy network on June 25.

Since Hervey was born, everything has happened without any expectations or specific goals, all in record time, like when artists composed a song, recorded it the next day and then, a few days later, the radio DJ was playing it. Hervey is an artist, a project, an idea and a madness that will bring a spark of light filled with beauty.
